What is a hand extrusion welder?

A hand extrusion welder melts plastic welding rod and applies the molten material directly into the prepared welding joint. Hot air preheats the welding area to help create a strong and consistent joint.

In geomembrane work, extrusion welding is particularly useful for details, corners, penetrations, connections and repairs where an automatic welding machine cannot complete the entire joint.

Choosing between MICRO, ExOn 1, ExOn 2, ExOn C3 and ExOn 3

For smaller jobs, repairs and difficult-to-access areas, the compact HERZ MICRO can be an attractive solution.

ExOn 1 and ExOn 1 Digital cover applications where a compact professional extrusion welder with moderate output is required. The Digital version provides additional digital control and temperature information.

For increased output, consider ExOn 2 and ExOn 2A. For applications requiring greater productivity, ExOn C3, ExOn 3 and ExOn 3A provide higher-output alternatives.

Machine selection should not be based on wattage or kg/h alone. Plastic type, welding rod diameter, material thickness, working position and weld geometry also need to be considered.
